Hedwig Potthast (1912-1994), Secretary of Heinrich Himmler
Alfred Kurzmeyer (?)
Deutsche Bank in the hotel room “As it was explosive in Berlin, Kurzmeyer relocated to Zurich and operates his businesses from here.” A Zurich police investigators wrote that in December 1944, observierte the Kurzmeyer on behalf of the Swiss authorities. The reason was a telegram from Berlin that had caught the Zurich telegram monitoring. Text: “An Kurzmeyer, RWM (Reich economic Ministry) jewellery sales agree.”
Victims of gold sales in Istanbul first 1995 sold the gold quantum well 300 kg – Deutsche Bank and conceded two months ago it could have been victims of gold. Unfortunately, the official Swiss historical Commission ignored this in its report published in may, 1998. Independent analysts fail again because of banking secrecy.
Shortly before the war’s end, Kurzmeyer made them subservient in at least one case of the SS. To escape the gas chamber, the Hungarian Jew, August Wild had his assets the SS economic – and administrative main office overwritten in July 1944 – including a credit balance of 239 000 Swiss francs in an account of the Suisse in Zurich. The transfer of the Swiss ransom tranche not flipped the SS front in Zurich, a certain Hunsicker, made trouble. To his friend Alfred Kurzmeyer turned a SS-Obergruppenführer and Oswald Pohl of General of Waffen-SS. For a fat fee Kurzmeyer and his associates from the Bank transferred the money from August Wild in February 1945 to the SS to Berlin.
There the Francs were served in the post-war period to Hedwig Potthast, the lover of Heinrich Himmler. August Wild, however, was shot dead on the orders of Oswald Pohl.
Kurzmeyer decided his career in the service of the Deutsche Bank in the Switzerland only in the 1950s.
The report said Deutsche Bank channeled gold transactions with the Reichsbank through branches in occupied Austria and Turkey, then a self-avowed neutral power. Of purchases totaling 4,446 kilograms of gold, the report concluded, 744 kilograms were dental gold taken from Jews’ teeth, wedding bands and personal jewelry amassed in Berlin by an SS officer named Bruno Melmer.
A key issue for the class-action suit, however, is whether there is proof that Deutsche Bank’s Nazi-era officials — particularly the director, Alfred Kurzmeyer, a Swiss citizen, and a board member, Hermann Abs, a leading financier in the Nazi war effort — had direct knowledge of the gold’s origins.
Deutsche Bank and Dresdner Bank base their rejection of the New York class-action suit on the assertion that their wartime officials had no knowledge of the origin of the gold, an assertion that leaders of German Jewish groups reject.

French Holocaust Records Exhibited for 1st Time
They are among France’s darkest days: Police dragged over 13,000 Jews from their homes, confined them in a Paris cycling stadium with little food or water, and then deported them to their deaths in the concentration camp at Auschwitz. But even in France, one of the most brazen collaborations between authorities and the Nazis during World War II is unknown to many in the younger generation.
Police are hoping to change that, opening up their archives on France’s biggest single deportation of French Jews for the first time to the public on Thursday.
The often chilling records are being exhibited in the Paris Jewish district’s city hall to coincide with the 70th anniversary of the two-day “Vel d’Hiv” roundup, named for the Velodrome d’Hiver, or Winter Velodrome. Many thousands were rounded up on July 16 and 17, 1942, then holed up in miserable conditions in the stadium, just a stone’s throw from the Eiffel Tower, before being bused to the French camp at Drancy and then taken by train to Auschwitz.
“In 1935 Hans Kerrl scored some initial successes in reconciling the differing parties in the Church Struggle. However, by the second half of 1936, his position was clearly undermined by NSDAP hostility, and by the refusal of the churches to work with a government body which they regarded as a captive or stooge of the Nazi Party. Hitler gradually adopted a more uncompromising and intolerant stance, probably under the growing influence of ideologues such as Bormann, Rosenberg and Himmler, who were loath to entertain any idea of the new Germany having a Christian foundation even in a token form.” (Munro, Gregory: “The Reich Church Ministry in Nazi Germany 1935-1938”, paper given at the Australian Conference of European Historians, July 1997). Increasingly marginalized by Hitler, who did not even grant him a personal conversation, Kerrl became desperate and embittered. A completely powerless minister, he died in office on 12 December 1941. Hitler did not appoint a successor. see also:

After the war, the Americans seized several trucks with material of the German Propagandakompanien. in 1962 they handed over the material the Koblenz-based Federal Archives, including 108 films created by Hähle. His widow sold the three films held back by Hähle, especially the color material, 1954 to the Berlin journalist Hans Georg Schulz. Black and white copies of the images served as evidence of the Frankfurt Prosecutor’s Office in 1961 and then disappeared in an archive. The color appeared only again in 2000, when Schulz’s widow sold it to the Hamburg Institute for social research , which could then add the imagesto its Wehrmachts-exhibition .

In 1940 he also joined both the Nazi Party and the Waffen-SS.The following year he worked again with Beger, this time at Auschwitz concentration camp where again his duty was to measure physical features of the inmates in order to determine to which race they belonged.Ultimately the case against him was dismissed the following year as there was insufficient evidence to prove that he knew he was involved in extermination and only Beger was convicted.
